Patriot
DDR2-1066
Patriot
follow the industry standard (as far as packaging
goes) with the use of a plastic case, although
they include detailed specifications which is
good to see. Here we have the rated speed, the
timings used and also a note of the voltage the
sticks require when used at the noted settings.
It’s a handy quick reference for anyone
installing the memory in their system.
The modules themselves
are stylish; they don’t have the cool black
PCB of the Crucial memory however they do have
a rugged “industrial look” to them
due to the bladed design of the aluminium heatsinks.
Also present is an information sticker which has
a reasonable level of information, however lacks
full timing details.
Once the modules were installed
it was good to see the SPD programming of the
sticks was correct for their rated speed (5-5-5-9)
and that EPP was present for those motherboards
which support it. Voltage wise Patriot use 2.3v
to achieve the rated specifications which is the
highest of all the products being tested today,
however there should be no concern as Patriot
provide a lifetime warranty.
