Conclusion:

The temperature reducing benefits of Arctic Cooling’s MX-2 Thermal Compound are clear to see, whether we compare it to the standard Intel thermal material or more expensive CoolerMaster paste. Reductions of up to 18c were registered when combined with the Freezer 7 Pro and even with the standard cooler we saw reductions of up to 8c. As noted earlier in the review MX-2 also has practical benefits such as being non electrically conductive; ensuring that expensive components, CPU’s, GPU’s and Chipsets, are not at risk during and after the application of the compound. Whilst these results are impressive as is it is also worth noting that MX-2 will improve in performance over time as the compound forms a seal/bond between component and cooler and during the 8 year cycle should serve everyone well whether they are an enthusiast or a novice.
