For those of you too young to remember struggling with
tape recorders and wondering why it was still making that
god awful high pitched whine then think yourselves fortunate
- "why hasn't this worked again!",
because the computers of today are mindblowingly powerful
and lets be honest we all take them for granted. For those
of you in the same age bracket as myself (mid 30's), for
the sum of £24.99 you can relive your childhood
gaming moments, the C64 DTV performed flawlessly throughout
the review and it was a pleasure to have instant load
times!
Its been a long time since the "World's
most popular computer" was on the scene
and the question on everyone's lips is "So have the
games aged much?" Yes unfortunately they have, with
a maximum resolution of 320x200 and mono sound grating
from the SID sound chip its hard not to be thankful for
Audigy 2's and X800 graphics cards. Of course this is
not what the C64 DTV is about, its quite simply a fun
device meant to be enjoyed as a part of computing history,
so we can look back with rose tinted memories at just
how we all started out on our computing adventure.
You
can purchase a Commodore 64 DTV from Gadgets.Co.Uk for
