Most people are tired of
running 3dmark and Pcmark and similar benchmarks,
while these are visually attractive benchmarks
they are not in many cases indicative of real
world situations, this is not the case with Photoshop.
This is a real world application with a myriad
of uses appealing to all users from digital photographers
to budding graphic designers. It is also a wonderful
test of all round system performance, specifically
memory bandwidth and CPU processing power. For

Prior to the release of
Core 2 there were a few applications available
which were always faster on AMD or Intel. Photoshop
is one area where Intel has always excelled. With
the launch of Core 2 we see that Intel still performs
exceptionally well in Photoshop and for a processor
at stock speeds the Extreme gives us the fastest
Photoshop performance we have ever seen. The Duo
isn’t far behind which is to be expected.
