In our synthetic tests there really is
only one winner, the Athlon64 X2 is light years ahead
of the Intel system in every test other than memory related
testing. We did expect this to be the case as the DDR2
used in the Intel system benchmarks high. What we didn’t
expect though was the margin that the X2 would outscore
the P4EE. In Sisoft Sandra we are looking at +40% on all
CPU tests which is truly mindblowing. What was also interesting
to us was the closeness of the scores on memory within
Sandra, whilst the PC mark memory scores were significantly
different there was only a small margin between the two
systems in Sisoft Sandra…This could well also be
the case in real world memory usage. Regarding the 3800+
Athlon64 we can see that the Intel EE is quite a bit ahead
in the synthetic performance with only the Arithmatic
Drhystone test being pretty close.
