Conclusion

Considering this is an entry level Power supply unit it is hard not to be impressed by the performance offered by the Enermax Liberty 400w PSU. Throughout out testing both the +12 and +5v lines remained above the minimum recommended voltages and whilst the 3.3v line did drop slightly below the figures as you saw in the testing it did remain very stable and in fact was only 1% below the 3.3v level.

The packaging and bundle provided by Enermax was, as always, first class and without doing any research on the unit if you saw it in the store you’d have all the information you need right in front of you. It is always nice to get little extras like stickers and pass ribbons, this adds a little bit extra to the overall product and feeling of value when compared to other manufacturers.

Regarding the design of the unit we see that the PSU looks great both inside and out. Plugs are colour coded to make assembly easier and the fan is ultra quiet while maintaining a high level of cooling efficiency. Additionally the internal layout is ideal to promote good airflow and there really isn’t anything we can find to fault.

The Liberty 400w is available now for around £50. When you take into account the price of the unit combined with the performance it offers it really is an obvious choice for a Heavenly Hardware Gold Award.
