Sisoft Sandra
Sisoft’s “Sandra” tool allows you to run a series of component specific tests on your system and compare them to a wide number of components within the results database. This can be useful in determining how well your system is performing and if any changes in components would benefit performance.
When we first looked at the 690G it was clear that it was the newer chipset as it outperformed the older Nvidia based boards in memory and arithmetic operations. What we see with the release of the 7050 and 630a is that Abit/Nvidia have managed to squeeze a little more performance out of the FX-62 CPU in our test system. Memory performance on the other hand does not quite receive the boost needed to surpass the AMD based board. There is also a small increase in multimedia performance which also keeps Nvidia’s parts well on top of this test.
