As
noted earlier in the review Foxconns 8800 GTS
320Mb is already overclocked when purchased @
575/1800 (compared to some versions which run
as low as 500/1600). With the clock speed being
the exact same as Foxconns 8800GTX you could be
forgiven for thinking that the core was already
near its maximum, especially considering the price
range of the card. Using ATI tool we began raising
the core speed of the card in 5 MHz increments
and eventually found that the card was 99% stable
at 630 MHz however after prolonged gaming there
were a few artefacts showing and we backed off
to 625 MHz which ran without issue. Next up was
memory over clocking and again using small increases
we found the maximum over clock which was 1910
MHz.
Overall
these are very good increases given the market
placement of the product. Here is how the over
clock affected the performance in Supreme Commander:
