Most people are tired of running 3dmark and Pcmark and
similar benchmarks, while these are visually attractive
benchmarks they are not in many cases indicative of real
world situations, this is not the case with photoshop.
This is a real world application with a myriad of uses
appealing to all users from digital photographers to budding
graphic designers. It is also a wonderful test of all
round system performance, specifically memory bandwidth
and CPU processing power. Massive files are also a good
test of hard drive access performance as photoshop will
rely heavily for its "paging file". For full

Performing the Photoshop test we expected the FX to pale
in comparison to the X2 which provided stunning results
in this test. We also expected the FX to fall behind the
P4 which is particularly strong in Photoshop image editing.
This didn’t prove to be the case though with the
FX 57 outperforming the P4 by almost three seconds overall,
and putting it only seven seconds behind the X2. Compared
to an non FX Athlon64 the FX is light years ahead in Photoshop
performance, so if image editing is your thing then you
should seriously consider the FX57.
