Bioshock
Up until now the Unreal 3.0 engine failed to impress many, but nobody can deny that Bioshock looks absolutely gorgeous. The world of Rapture is filled with detailed pixel shader effects that bring the countless cascades, puddles and leaky pipes to life. Not to mention the dynamic shadows, huge levels and detailed characters. With DX10 support this is definitely one of the prettiest games out there.

It took us a while before we settled on a resolution to use in our Bioshock test. 1024x768 was obviously too low and anything above 1280x1024 yielded framerates that were playable only outside of combat. In the end we chose a wide-screen resolution, as this gave the framerates a small boost thanks to the way Bioshock does wide-screen (cuts off the top and bottom portion of the image). As you can see from the graphs the 1Gb of memory didn’t help much and the faster GPU/memory of the GLH card resulted in framerates that were approximately 10% higher.
