Driver Heaven Photoshop V2 Bench
Most people are tired of running 3dmark and Pcmark and similar benchmarks, while these are visually attractive benchmarks they are not in many cases indicative of real world situations, this is not the case with Photoshop. This is a real world application with a myriad of uses appealing to all users from digital photographers to budding graphic designers. It is also a wonderful test of all round system performance, specifically memory bandwidth and CPU processing power. For full information and links to download this bench for yourself and to compare scores with other Driver Heaven members, head over here. We are using Photoshop CS3 for this testing.

So what does Photoshop tell us? Well at this time it is not heavily reliant on quad cores and as a result the new E6750 scores slightly better than the QX6700, no doubt due to the higher bandwidth available via the 1333 MHz FSB. The higher clock speed of the X6800 at 2.93GHz gives it an advantage over the previously mentioned processors. The outstanding result however is the combination of 1333MHz FSB and high clock speed with the QX6850, the highest performance to date in our Photoshop benchmark at an incredibly quick 95 seconds.
