Sisoft Sandra
Sisoft’s “Sandra” tool allows you to run a series of component specific tests on your system and compare them to a wide number of components within the results database. This can be useful in determining how well your system is performing and if any changes in components would benefit performance.
Sisoft Sandra allows us to take a look at the theoretical performance of each processor. There are two levels of performance in this test, one for the dual cores and one for the quad cores. What the results actually tell us is that for CPU performance it is clock speed which is most beneficial in Sandra tasks rather than FSB speeds. The memory scores however are improved and the 1333MHz FSB chips show some of their potential. The greater throughput allows our DDR2-1066 to increase in bandwidth by over 1200 points when compared to the 1066MHz CPU’s.
