After you have spent enough time configuring the system BIOS and get your system up and running, MSI supplies a few interesting software utilities that help you keep your system up to date and helps to monitor things like temperatures and voltages of critical system components.

DigiCell:

One of the utilities that MSI has to offer is their DigiCell application. This is like the control centre for all the MSI monitoring software that comes with their motherboard's. If you have the required applications installed they will be illuminated blue within the DigiCell main window, applications that are not present will remain greyed out.

Power On and Audio Features:

The next two areas we look at are Power On and Audio Configuration. The power on feature allows you to program your system to startup or shutdown and which if any applications you would like to have opened on startup. You can specify if you want a particular application to start on a specific day or every time you reboot, or just once if so desired. For network users it also allows you to configure an Auto logon script to sign you in. While convenient, I can see administrator's cringing at the thought.

The audio configuration software basically offers the things found in most audio suites. They offer a 10 band EQ, various environmental effects and a speaker configuration wizard. So there is nothing really new here but at least they supply you the suite so that you don't have to download it from the internet.

The Core Center:

The Core Center is a very valuable tool. It monitors you systems critical components like CPU and Northbridge chipset for temperature and fan speeds. You can set up temperature ranges to trigger alerts if your system gets too hot or a fan stops spinning as well as the option to dynamically adjusting the FSB speed to what it determines to be the best settings.
