F.E.A.R. contains some
of the most demanding graphics currently available.
Visit most forums and you’ll no doubt find
people thoroughly depressed over how low they
have to set the detail levels to get the game
up and running at a respectable pace with their
hardware. For our testing soft shadows are off.

The results
in F.E.A.R. follow a similar trend to the Half-Life
2 Episode 1 test with the 7950GT 512Mb sandwiched
between the two Radeons. Despite following the
same pattern the two GT's are a lot closer in
performance in this game and its only 3 and 4
frames per second on average that separate them.
Looking at the X1900XT
512mb in comparison to the 7950Gt 512mb we see
that once again the ATI based card is 12 frames
per second faster than the Nvidia card at 1600x1200,
dropping to 9fps at 1920x1200.
