DriverHeaven Review

Antec are a company well known to the enthusiast community, mainly for their computer enclosures and Power supply units. Today I will be reviewing the P160, at first glance a very eye-pleasing case. It’s an all aluminium design with a plastic front bezel.

The Packaging:
The case arrived in a very well sealed cardboard box, with no apparent damages to it.

Let’s move on to the features of the P160

The case:

At the top of the front of the P160 you can see the Swiveling front control panel that sports the common I/O feature two USB ports, one firewire, and one headphone and mic. But it also have a temperature display, connected to two thermal sensors that you can place where ever you see fit in the case. Very effective.

Here you see the P160 with the side cover taken off, and with the accessories, the usual drive rails, and one 120mm fan. The P160 does only come with one 120mm fan, if you would want another one you’d have to buy it separately.

Here’s a shot of the inside of the P160, the hard drive compartment is a bit different from the most common design, Rotated 90 degrees this allows the drive cables to be routed to the inside of the case, making it a lot easier to hide them.

In front of the hard drive cage you find the slot for the front 120mm fan, which is attached with a thumbscrew for the user’s convenience. Just release the thumbscrew and slide the fan mount out. I must say though, that I think that it would have been nice if Antec shipped their P160’s with two 120mm’s Instead of just one….

If you remove the front bezel you’ll find that it has a removable dust filter, which is very nice. There is also a three pin power connector for the blue diodes in the front.
