Gigabyte P35-DQ6 Bios

Gigabyte's choice of BIOS on this product is by Award and is packed with configuration options. There are standard monitoring options and boot/devices configuration options, however it is the MIT section of the bios which is most interesting. In here we find huge potential for system tweaking. CPU settings are available for FSB increases up to 700MHz and a multiplier of 16 combined with CPU and MCH voltages up to 2.35 and +.375v respectively. Memory settings are also available for the main timings of the installed DDR2, however in the bios there is one odd feature. On most BIOS we are able to choose the exact level of voltage on a scale. The P35-DQ6 takes a different view of this feature and instead gives DDR2 over volt options up to +1.55v. It’s not a big issue, however it is rather a bizarre configuration method. Memory speeds up to DDR2-1066 can also be selected although it is not quite as configurable as products based on Nvidia's 680i Chipset.
