User Experience/Conclusion
The SB Live! 24bit USB provides excellent
sound quality regardless of the type of use. We ran our
sample through its paces on TV, DVD movies, Music CD’s
and games. In all cases we couldn’t fault the sound
quality. The High end sounds are always crystal clear
and the bass suitably deep. Build quality of the components
are first class and the design of the main unit should
fit in nicely with most systems. Also worth mentioning
is the software, all of the software and drivers included
with the SB Live! USB were completely stable and not once
in our testing did we have a sound related issue or system
lockup. If you are looking for an external soundcard then
you needn’t look any further than the Soundblaster
Live! 24bit USB.
With regards to the Inspire
T5900 speaker set we were again very impressed.
For a mid range system the build quality was excellent,
especially the construction of the sub. From a volume
perspective the system is more than capable of filling
an average sized room with quality surround sound. We
tested in a room that was 15feet by 16 feet (and has high
ceilings). At all times the audio was completely clear
and never too quiet (infact it was easy to make it too
loud). In our test sections of the lobby scene from The
Matrix and Galloping Gallimimus from Jurassic Park the
positional audio was excellent, whether it the low thuds
of dinosaurs running around the room to the sound of bullet
casings bouncing of marble in the matrix we couldn’t
fault the speaker quality.
Creative have produced two excellent
value mainstream products without skimping on the quality.
