Conclusion
Testing of the Siemens SP65 certainly wasn’t a
boring experience and it was nice to receive a product
which wasn’t great for a change. Unfortunately as
you can see from the review content the handset is far
from good either.
Whether it be the build quality issues such as the battery
cover which doesn’t fit well, the finish that’s
easily scuffed, the keypad that’s hard to use or
the software which is painfully slow there wouldn’t
be many times when using the handset that you wouldn’t
be annoyed by some aspect of its features or design. Other
than a couple of features (the emergency phonebook and
survival dictionary) and the fact that the handset isn’t
overly heavy or bulky there really aren't many redeeming
features to recommend a purchase.
The business users that this phone is aimed at will also
be very disappointed, yes it does have good connectivity
and you could manage your email inbox on the move, however
the lag caused by the underpowered internals and the subsequent
slow software combined with the excessively small keypad
means productivity would certainly be higher with a different
handset.
Even if you want a phone to use just for calls there
are many other models on the market (in a much lower price
range) that would do that job quicker.
A very disappointing product from Siemens, stay well
away.
The SP65 can be purchased online with a contract from
free to £100 or sim free for approx £200.
