Oblivion

Oblivion was released a while ago and features one of the best looking game worlds ever seen on the PC. The level of detail available mixed with the exceptional use of HDR lighting is really the type of gaming experience we all want.

In our first test we are looking at the performance of the GTX’s in Oblivion at 1920x1200. First up is a stock speeds compare of the SLI and single card solutions with 8xqAA and 16xHqAF. At these settings the SLI configuration provides good performance however there is still a drop to less than 25fps and as a result some occasional stutters. On the whole though, the game is playable at these settings.

Upping the CPU speed from 2.66GHz to 4GHz allows us to increase the image quality further with only a minor drop to 23fps when we were engaged in a large battle. Finally we ran each of our SLI sets at overclocked speeds with the overclocked CPU’s and found that all cards remained playable throughout the testing.
