DriverHeaven Review

Crucial Ballistix

The Crucial Ballistix come in a plain brown cardboard box which while boring offers reasonable protection. The memory sticks look the business though, with the gold heat spreaders and black PCB. The Ballistix logo is printed on the middle of the heat spreader.

The stickers on the sticks give you information on the part numbers however like the Ultra no further information on timings etc.

The crucial comes with rather unique timings for performance memory. Its set to 2-2-2-8 which surprised us. In our opinion any memory aimed at the enthusiast or performance market should be set to 2-2-2-5 out of the box so our first test with the Ballistix was to test it at these tighter timings. The results were positive though and the Crucial ran at that speed flawlessly so these are the timings used for the review.
