Test
result:
The
coolers from Zalman will be tested against the
recently reviewed Noctua NH-U9 coupled with a
YS-Tech 50CFM 92mm fan, and the very strong stock
cooler for the X2 4400+ with four heat pipes.
The
temps were measured using the latest version of
ITE Smart Guardian. Idle temps were obtained upon
reboot and after been idle for 15 minutes. Load
temps after 30 minutes of running dual instances
of “toast” on high priority.
The
ambient room temp was kept between 23-25°C
during the period of testing. Arctic Silver 5
was used with all the coolers and applied accordingly
to Arctic Silvers recommendations.

As
you can see in the above chart the CNPS8000 is
performing quite well. It is able to beat the
very capable AMD stock heatsink with the fans
on full by a couple degrees all the time. It only
loses by one degree when the fans are spinning
on the low setting; this is very nice especially
since the CNPS8000 mainly is made with SFF systems
in mind. And I also have to mention that on the
low speed setting the 8000 HSF is as close to
silent as a spinning fan can be which is extremely
impressive. The CNPS9500 AM2 is able to beat the
stock cooler with several degrees at all time,
it also is very even to the excellent performing
Noctua NH-U9, and it only loses out to it in the
over clocked environment by 1 degree Celsius.
This can however depend on many factors like ambient
fluctuation etc, so I call it a draw between them.
