I'm happy & amazed to see how Zardon handled the situation & let one innocent & fair person win.I can now understand the usefulness of your " Sophisticated Softwares ".

Congrats Andrew for winning the 3870X2, Swimtech for that surprise prize & Slug for the Crucial DDR3 ram.Wow you guys are lucky.

The card arrived today!

What's this strange box from Canada?

Oh! A video card is inside!

It's so purty

Oh... it's also HUGE! (Lenovo laptops have full-size keys)

I'm still in the process of choosing the parts for my new computer and reading reviews so...no specs yet. But the vid card is here! Woo!

Well, just got a phone call from my wife at home that a package had arrived from Canada. She couldn't stand it - she had to open it, but she wouldn't tell me what it was! Frankly, I don't want to know (for sure...) yet 'cause I won't be able to get home until about midnight tonight.

The only clue she would give me was that it came in a "Secret Agent case". Hmmm... I don't think AMD would be sending a T-Shirt in a secret agent case - you agree?

Can you say EXCITED? I knew that you could.

Pix tomorrow - I'm bringing it to work 'cause one of the guys I work with here really wants to see it too.

Woo-Hoo!!!

...two words - Un Real!!!!

AMD sent me, in a case meant for air cargo transport, a shiny 3870 512mb video card! See...

and a little closer...

A better consolation prize there has never been, and a huge boost for me in building my new system - the first I will actually ever have built for myself from scratch. Already have the case, memory, keyboard/mouse, and now the video card.

Thank you doesn't begin to describe how grateful I am to AMD, DriverHeaven, and all the members and guests who voted and participated in this contest - so Thank You, again...

My wife really loves the case - she gets that once the video card is in the new computer!

And, YES, it works!

It's barely audible with my ear right on the jig while running the demo, the photo froze the fan in motion - it's turning at low speed.

Great, I was hoping AMD would do something like that, congratulations!

P.S. I always liked that particular tech demo.

EDIT: You've got a nice camera too, the exposure time must have been very short, what model is it?

'twas an HP 717 6MP camera, set to 2MP pictures for all 3 shots - everything auto, uploaded to ImageShack. The last photo I resized through ImageShack's upload/resize and optimize function - seemed to work well.

I slightly miscomposed the first shot - caught a couple sticky notes on my desk - but it's ok...

Would have run a DX10 demo, but didn't have Vista on that machine.

Thanks! Yes, it was a simply outstanding consolation prize - I'm a very happy feller! It is perfectly suited to the Gigabyte EX38-DS4 mainboard I'm likely to get soon (and had my eye on before the contest ended), and will hopefully CrossfireX with another AMD card down the road - here's hoping the new gen cards due from AMD will Cross with this one. And who knows (Who Knows???), maybe we really will see Yayitsandrew's weapon and/or my character in the Tabula Rasa game someday - that would be soooooo cool.
