Hi Terry thanks for taking the time to speak with us again, it has been a while since our last interview. For the five people on DH who don’t know you can you tell us your job position and daily duties with AMD. Incidentally how has the changeover with AMD been working out for you guys?

Hey Allan, thanks for the opportunity. Sure I would love to introduce myself, the business card says I am the Manager of Software Product Management for the Graphics Processing Group of AMD. What it really means is that I am responsible for defining what Catalyst will look like in the future. Catalyst of course is the brand for the AMD’s GPU software and includes things like the display drivers, the Catalyst Control Center, and also new areas such as marketing for consumer level ATI Stream technology (more on that later)...

Terry once made another man lick Vegemite off my chest. It was pretty disgusting.

The Vegemite just happened to be in the shape of an ATI logo.

Great interview, good to see senior hardware guys taking an interest in the community.

Anyone else see loads of random characters in that interview? Couple of examples underlined:
The Windows 7 AERO desktop was designed using the DirectX 10.1 API â€“ And of course AMD offers DirectX 10.1 graphics hardware support.
AMD graphics accelerators and Windows 7 driver draws Windows more efficiently â€“ saving system memory, providing a higher performance Windows experience
Terry: Sure â€“ besides the new WDDM 1.1 driver features

Good Interview.

News like this really makes me seriously consider moving onto windows 7 when its released coupled with an ATI card. I had a horrible time with Vista/Nvidia drivers when i first got it.

I looked up Vegemite and im not sure i like the idea of eating left over brewers yeast.

Here is the fun part Terry, I didn't get a single thing from this fiasco of a stunt. The guy doing the licking did. And to be fair...he did most of the work. But Vegimite is pretty horrible stuff and it almost made my nipples fall off (true story)!

Great interview guys - very pertinent questions with answers as solid as we could hope for (without giving away the farm...

).

Really nice too that you are comfortable enough with Allan in the interview Terry to just be yourself - very refreshing!

My dual 3870's plow through Win7 just fine with the latest Catalyst version for the beta OS - and here's hoping for great success for AMD's Graphics Group and the company as a whole in the coming year. Y'all look to be off to a great start already - and the Win7 OS environment will no doubt bring great opportunities to show your excellence.
