Re: Win an Ultra X4 850W PSU @ Driverheaven!
I need this PSU because during Thanksgiving I had to use my old one to cook my turkey.

Hmm...turkey usually goes so many minutes per pound. I wonder if you can translate that into so many amps per pound? Hopefully the turkey runs off of the 12v rail.

Re: Win an Ultra X4 850W PSU @ Driverheaven!
So I installed it, connected everything, did a little bit of extra cable management hit the power button...and nothing. Duh, I didn't flip the switch on the PSU itself. Flick. Hit the power button...and nothing.
I'm waiting for a reply from Ultra tech support. ![]() I have power because the LED on the mobo is on so there is some current getting there at least. When I hit the power button I hear a quick, faint squeak and that's it. |

Re: Win an Ultra X4 850W PSU @ Driverheaven!
Optix: double check the modular power cables to make sure they're properly inserted. I had that problem with my older X3-800W.
Also check that you didn't accidentally connect the 8 pin aux power cable to the 8 pin pci-e plug on the PSU. Last edited by slugbug; Dec 19, 2009 at 06:49 PM. |

[8-pin] [6-pin] [8-pin] [-6pin] I had them plugged in side by side instead of every other so a 6-pin was in the 8-pin spot. Duh... Maybe I wasn't meant to deal with power supplies. First the screw dropping into my OCZ and now this. On a side note I cracked open the OCZ PSU and got the screw. It was right up against the side. I put the top back on it, plugged it in to test and it couldn't even power up the system with only the motherboard connections attached. Looks like the Ultra reached me just in time! Again, I state that I have never claimed to be a smart man. I seem to prove this more and more each day. |

Re: Win an Ultra X4 850W PSU @ Driverheaven!
...at least you live in the same continent where Ultra's headquarter is. As for me here in Asia, I'm still waiting for the non-standard power plug for my PSU that I won from Germany
