Nice quality GM SF
Hey all. If you all want a good sounding well ballanced soundfont I suggest this.
Go here: http://www.pgmusic.com/fortedxi.htm grab that DXI and install it as a shareware. It will install a gm based gig set. Grab a conversion program like awave or better yet, use VSampler3. That seems to do the conversions the best. You'll have to go into your sf editor to renumber and move a few instruments around, but it will be worth it. Peace.. |

Just got it. The sample set contains many samples from other soundfonts such as the EMU 8MB one, Reality GM/GS and so on, and they are selling these samples for money. What a shame...

Most places seem to be doing things like that now adays. I think that's one of the reasons I've never released a SF. But then again, they probably did what most SF designers do, and that is, grab samples from some sample site.

Hi NightBreed, thanks for the tip. I'm new to VSampler and have a question. I was able to convert an instrument into *.sf2 format, in this case the Steinway and it plays fine. Is there a way to convert them all at once and save it as a collection?
Also, what are the *.gig.2dd file for, do you know? Thanks again. Edit: Ignore that, I just figured it out. Now to straighten them all out. Sounds promising but, we'll see. I like the organ sounds. Last edited by peate; Apr 25, 2006 at 06:51 PM. |

Only thing I found I has to replace, was the first snare in the standard kit. Other then that, I do like the balance of this set and the snappiness the instruments have.
