Can't find the right Creative SBLive default soundfont version

Hi,

just installed kx and must say it looks very promising. Keep up the great work!

Here's my (hopefully minor) problem trying to install the original SBLive (5.1) sounfont:

I found two sf2 files in WINDOWS\system32 (I also searched the program files directory and found nothing):

drivers\2gmgsmt.sf2 (21.7.2001)
ct2mgm.sf2 (32.9.1999)

both sound much worse than the one in use before the kx installation. Then I searched the driver CD and found:

8mbgmsfx.sf2 (12.4.1996)
4gmgsmt.sf2 (30.7.1996)
2gmgsmt.sf2 (16.11.96)

These sound absolutely terrible (even the 8MB version).

The Creative driver doesn't install the "good one" as a file and the CD contains outdated versions... So, where can I find a recent 8MB version of the SBLive default soundfont?

Thanks for any help!

Any 8MB soundfont will sound terrible. Download the personal copy sound font around 25mb compressed. It sounds much better you'll hear.

http://www.personalcopy.com/sfarkfonts1.htm

or look in the Soundfont thread on top.

Well, your reply does not really answer my question -- but hanks for the link, anyway!

Nope, it isn't the one I'm looking for.
Thanks for your effort, anyway.
