No MIDI signals ! ! ! (no soundfont issue, i think?)
Ive got a GM-synth hooked in the SB-LIVE! Gameport trying to play Reason's softsynths with in Win2K.
It has always been working, it just stopped! Trying to solve the problem i have reformated the system atleast 3 times. I bought new cables and a new soundcard, the latest kX drivers installed and everything. All channels are common etc. But it doesnt work! In the devicemanager i can see that my soundcard "kX 10k1 Audio - General" is using 'IRQ 10' and that the "indata-outdata-intervall" is on 'D800 - D81F' , while my gameport "kX 10k1 Audio - Gameport" is using no IRQ at all and that the "indata-outdata-intervall" is on 'D400 - D407' . Shouldnt these two 'components' have a common value? I mean, ive got the midicable hooked in the soundcards GAMEPORT? PLEASE try to help me with this issue ! ! ! I would be greatful for live!

1. MIDI Port is not related to "Gameport" at all (even if they share same connector). 2. Soundfonts are not related to SoftSynths of reason too. 3. Make sure you use "kX UART **** [***]" as midi input in Reason.

Thanks for your help man. Then i dont have to think about that anymore!
I wasnt sure wich one of the kX-inputs i was suppose to use in reason but now i know! When i am checking my audioproperties in the device manager i see that my "midi-unit-device" is installed to "kX Synth Device", is this right? Shouldnt it be on "kX UART" or "kX controller" or something? i mean, to make it "common" in somehow? Peace |

If you use external Synthesizer then output port should be "kX Uart" ("kX Synth" is the on-board soundfont synth)

I think i may have the same problem, ive have been using the kX drivers for a while, controlling various music programs via my synth. Its plugged in to the soundblaster game port with a midi converter cable. I've also got 2 midi ports on a daughter card so it seems to make sense to call it the game port to avoid confusion.
Anyway, i tried the other day (for the first time in a fairly long while) and nothing works. A midi-ox investigation shows there are no midi messages showing up anywhere. Ive got the correct inputs selected (kx Uart) and ive double checked the cables, synth settings and other obvious stuff. Maybe its a problem with the latest drivers and certain cards.. ill try some of the older ones + see what happens. wierd as ive never had any hitches before. |

Using the midipiano software 'Midimouse' , i can see that my MIDI-OUT is working fine, but MIDI-IN still doesnt work! My SB-live card is now on "IRQ5". I will now install the KX-3530-update drivers.
After i been reading other forutms etc, i see that many people have experienced the same problem, nothing about have to solve it though. Recommendations? :/ |
