I hooked up my Alesis SR-16 drum machine to my computer into Cubase VST 5.1...Because I do not have a velocity sensetive keyboard, I use the SR-16 (sensetive pads) to trigger a drum soundfont. Somehow the velocity of the pads don't react the way they use to and I get random kinda velocity changes when I hit them?!! I also have to hit them rather hard. It's nothing with the SR-16, cause I've tested it thru its main output on an ext. amp and everything works fine... I also tested this with the ordinairy SBLive! driver and everything is working!!? Is there something I'm unaware of?! (driver incompatiballities?). Any help with this is greatly received!!! TNX -D-

Hi, I'm also having some velocity problems with kX and soundfonts, see my post from January in this same forum (that's called "soundfont velocity problem" or something like that).
I just downloaded kX 3529 and will soon try if that has been fixed. Bye. |

Yes, I now tried 3529 and my velocity problem has indeed been fixed. Maybe not completely, but almost. Try installing the new release and see if that fixes your problem, too.

Tnx for the reply... I read your issue also, I think it is in someway similar to my problem but slightly different. I've made some progress in isolating the problem and think it has something to do with my Cubase VST 5.1, because I haven't had any similar problem with Sonar using Livesynth Pro!? Somehow it has to do with monitoring the sounds directly when hitting the pads in real-time. When I record a track I hear those random velocities, but they seem to be recorded the right way??! Confusing...but perhaps it could have something to do with the kXdriver, 'cause I bypassed the kX soundfont manager using the Livesynth Pro in Sonar
well...still havin' faith ...
