??? Sounfonts sound worse with kx

I have just being making a direct comparison between two identicle computers with the same soundcards, same 8meg soundfont bank. Is there any reason why on the machine using the new kx drivers the soundfonts are noticeably poorer sounding than the machine with the original Creative SB Live! series drivers.

I had to install the kx drivers manually since the supplied setup program wouldnt work. I understood the correct driver for the Creative SB Live! series to be CT4870 is this correct?

Hello Jake.

You'd have to provide a better description of what "noticeably poorer sounding" means to you in order for anyone to be able to provide any useful comment.

Poorer sounding in what way? When used in what way? What kind of software/hardware/monitoring environment? Etc.

/Hanz

exclamation

Jake Farr : And another suggestion, maybe you could put up some mp3-samples of the same piece played by both drivers, so people can compare and nail out the differences.

Just a thought...
