No MIDI playback

So, yeah, I've tried to look through this whole forum for something that solves this problem, but so far, I've found nothing. The simple problem here is that I cannot get any MIDI playback out of any program, be it Winamp or PowerTab or Guitar Pro or anything at all.

What do I have to do to fix it?

Strange. I tried one yesterday (this one: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/showthread.php?t=19614), and it made no difference. However, when trying the General GS one, there was a difference. Thanks.
