Sad USB Keyboard MIDI Input (3538j) - WARNING

Upon install of the KX Drivers (3538j) for XP, I found that the MIDI ports for my M-Audio UNO (MIDI 1x1) had been stepped on by the KX Control and UART ports. Both the M-audio Input and Output ports were nowhere to be found. The device and driver was still listed in the devices list, but not available in the Port list (for applications).

Re-booting or unplugging the USB port did not change the condition.

I uninstalled the M-audio UNO driver and then re-installed it. It is now back in the port list.

I suspect that this can happen to any other USB devices that happen to occupy the same port positions used by the KX Drivers. This also may be due to the midi driver being dormant when the KX Drivers were installed. (e.g. in most cases when the USB device is unplugged, the system does not recognize it as an active device.)

Just a note in case anyone else runs into this problem.
