Hi,
I am new to the KX Drivers. I downloaded/installed the latest version. I have read through the forums but cannot find solutions to my particular problems. The 1st thing is that when I load midi file/project in Cubase XP I get a message saying something like "The samplerate could not be set due to the samleclock being set to external" I cannot find any setting that says the sample clock is set to external! I don't know if the 1st problem is related to the 2nd but when I try to play or record a midi track the song slows down to half speed after about a bar, making it impossible to record anything. I read that there could be problems using VIA 4in1 mainboard drivers of which I have the recent release installed could this effect things? I have also to look at the ACPI situation on my system. Any help will be very much appreciated, I would really like to get these drivers working! Cheers Bry Athlon 750, Lex mainboard, Xpert 98xl graphics card, 13Gb generic HD, SBLive Value, Win98SE, Cubase SX. |

I've not used cubase but I think your should try changing the samplerate to 48 kHz in cubase because kx driver's asio has samplerate fixed at 48 k.

Thanks for your reply.
That is the strange thing, the message appears even when I load up a project that has been saved at 48Khz. The SBLive and APS drivers ran ok but I can't seem to get the KX ones to work properly. Something else I noticed is that after the driver installation (and a couple of re-boots) I always end up with a message saying "Incorrect settings file", whether this is part of the problem or not I do not know. I've formatted more than once and installed the drivers from the control panel -as well as the normal way-but the same thing happens every time. I get the above message and the midi suddenly staggers to half speed. The ASIO side of things seems to work, I get 2.5ms latency and the cubase effects play in realtime but if I try to record along side a midi click I get the slow down problem. I have just installed Windows XP and I am about to have a go at installing the KX drivers so wish me luck and I'll report back. Cheers Bry |

Well, I installed XP and got the same problems straight away.
I've tried disabling ACPI, changing soundcard slot, re-installing kx drivers, updating mainboard, graphics, directx drivers, playing with Cubase SX settings. But what ever I do, as soon as I set a midi track recording it slows after a couple of seconds. So I guess that unless I'm lucky enough for someone to come up with a solution, I'm just gonna have to resort back to Creative or APS. Any ideas anyone? cheers Bry |
