MIDI latency with CUBASIS VST CE
Hi!
First I would like to thank you for a great driver. With the help of forum members I managed to find out that I did not have SF2 loaded, so problem with no synth sound when using midi files in Cubasis was fixed. SBB....ie user initiated problem..... Remaining problems are; A) Experiencing audible latency when playing on midi keyboard connected to Audigy 1 Platinum Uart2 Midi in connector and working in Cubasis VST CE. B)Further proplem is heavy processor load (have P4 1.7GHz with 768 MB DDR RAM) According to performance monitor in Cubasis load is over 50% C) Problem with monitoring Line1 or Line2 when recording in Cubasis. Using configuration suggestions according to suggestions posted in link in forum for Line 1 and Lin2 DSP configuration. Should I add Prolog AC97 and connect it to the router as well? Suggestions please!!! Links in forum appreciated. Cheers ................Sonic Wiseman |

A) Use KX ASIO drivers (and not MME or DIRECTX one's) and set it up to less than 21ms. C) You may turn on the direct monitoring in Cubase, after you solve your latency problems, or you can do what you suggested (but you'll get double sounds probably).

Getting the hang of it
First thanks for suggestion. Still I am experiencing problems.
A) Use KX Asio so unfortunately suggestion doesn't fix delay. When I route the own sound from a PSR midikeyboard (Aux2)and control Audigy internal synth via midi at the same time from the same instrument there is latency between own sound from the midikeyboard and the sound from the onboard Audigy synth. Suggestions?? B) Heavy load still on CPU C) Recordings now work better. However if KX driver is loaded with different settings than the arrangement settings the song crashes in Cubasis VST CE. These makes it hard to rework old song arrangements as you may want different KX driver settings at different reocording sessions. Any suggestions? Cheers.............SonicWiseman |
