10K2 kX Synth test request..
Ok - I have changed kX router for the kX Synths as such:
SEND A - FXBuss 28 SEND B - FXBuss 29 SEND C - FXBuss 16 SEND D - FXBuss 17 While adjusting CC91 (adjusting CC93 seems ok) in *realtime* (this accents the problem, but can hear 'glitches' even when a a single CC#91 is sent..) while MIDI from kX synth is playing the above conditions result in: reverb_test_case-Audio 2 - eSnips, share anything You can hear the attack as well as decay get affected by adjusting CC#91. Now I have eliminated SENDS C&D or at least, those sends FXBuss are ok but if I change SEND A & B back to FXBuss 2/3 - it fixes the problem. The same problem occurs if sends A&B are on FXBuss: 22/23 24/25 26/27 As well... Can any confirm this. or maybe explain it. If the above isnt clear enough, or more parameters are involved I did not account for...please indicate as such.. Thanks in advance. |

for clarity - the glitches are heard ONLY from SENDS A/B - *not* sends C-H... you still hear the problem with sends C-H muted - its definitly coming from Sends A/B when FXBuss is > 21.... but I still need to test with a completely different kX router config.

update:
edited.... It would seem that if Sends A-D are > FXBuss for kX Synths - the posted audio sample will occur.... it can also come out of Sends C &D as well depending on how kX router is configured. (sends A-D > FXBuss 15) to repeat this problem: 1) set kX Synths in kX Router: SendA to FXBuss16; SendB to FXBuss17; SendC to FXBuss 18 2) Play SoundFont instruments on kX Synth and while playing...adjust CC#91 or CC93 It helps to use a piano instrument (sharp attack with a relatively slow decay.) edit: I am starting to wonder if using a FXBuss pair like 14/15 for Sends C/D will cuase issues with MIDI CC's in general - as I notice also when adjusting pan (CC#10) in real time as well - and could explain why kX Default router used non-paired FXBuss's (13/14 for sends C/D) ????????? I cant really seem to get my head wrapped around what it is I am witnessing.... so many parameters involved. ![]()

With the default routing, when the only source I can hear is bus 13 or 14, the synth is playing and I am moving the reverb/chorus sliders, I hear a very pronounced effect akin to short scratches, with which I actually had some fun, scratching to the beat.
Changing bus numbers in the router (and switching Src to the number) didn't change anything about this. You might want to try if higher latency makes it any different. In other words, a similar but possibly different problem - ? Last edited by octave; Feb 13, 2008 at 09:20 PM. Reason: wording |

And I was under the impression (and in my limited testing) that the kX Synths are not part of kX ASIO - it makes no difference with any latency or buffer settings - or any kX Synth specific settings that I have tried. If I use default kX router settings everything is fine - the problem seems to start when I use an FXBuss >15 for any of the Sends A-D (havent tested much on the Sends D-H tho) Due to the overwhelming response - I gave up testing Doesn't seem like many 10K2 users using the kX synths much.. ??

The scratching sound is probably just GUI/mouse noise, which sometimes occurs under higher CPU usage (when using GUI elements (like sliders) or when dragging windows, etc), etc.
Also, as Maddogg6 stated, ASIO latency should not effect the kX Synths. Last edited by Russ; Feb 13, 2008 at 10:30 PM. |

Mmhm probably there are more users of kX synths than consummate users of kX Router! An 1337 within an 1337.
