Soundfont Problems with Audigy 2

I'm having some real issues with soundfonts with the Audigy 2 card. I am using some large soundfonts, especially using strings as I have a lot of jobs that require good strings. When playing a midi tune using a strings soundfont I will get an almost audible "pop" at the end of each 4-beat measure. Strings are just plain choppy and will drop out at other weird times. Also, my trumpet sound may, at times, play only a couple of beats into a measure and then just disappear. This also happens with several other soundfonts. Granted, the strings are a big file (12 mb), but the trumpet is only about 600k. I have a new Gateway computer with 512 mb of ram running on Windows XP. This was never a problem before when I used my Live Platinum card on the same computer. I've contacted Creative and was given some suggestions, but so far nothing has helped, this includes installing new drivers to installing the card into a different slot. If installing more ram would help I would do that, but not if it isn't going to make any difference. No one seems to have a clue what I'm talking about so if anyone out there has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
