an idea for the developers
The idea is to have a simple vsti or vst-plugin that has the purpose of saving and loading SF's, DSP, mixer settings approriate to the particular song-project that is running on the host.
At the moment this is done by saving and loading various kx settings files manually, prior to loading a song, and remebering to save and store when the songproject is edited. This process can come unstuck (it's hardware dependent and sometimes kx version dependent). The vst-plugin would store and restore the entire kx context automatically and would facilitate the use of kx-automation better because effects patches would always match the midi/automation data. I realise that progress has been made with SF loading recently but this would provide a more comprehensive link of kx-environment with specific music projects on vst hosts. cheers |

the present VSTi plugin, kX VSTi, not only controls the effects via MIDI messages, but also saves and restores kX DSP settings (stored in your audio project file)
however, yes, this functionality must be extended to allow user to choose which settings to save/restore (if any) thanks for reminding us to update kX VSTi ![]() /Eugene p.s. btw, 3533 rc1 saves/restores kX Automation settings, not kX VSTi p.p.s. concerning soundfont settings: don't you think it will conflict with cubase soundfont management?.. |

thats great!
I thought the kxVSTi did just automation, but no! Also, I will try the SF managent features with the latest kx version under cubase sx as I understand there has been progress made with this. (I had not had much luck with this in the past.) Which is the best version in regards to the features mentioned in this thread ? (I'm willing to try beta). thanks |
