My friend and I are having a problem with The Grand VSTi and Cubase SX. I don't know if KX Drivers can be responsible for this problem:
If we play REALLY soft and slow on the keyboard (a Casio Touch Response type) we here the sound just perfectly. Same thing if we play REALLY hard, we hear every note. But, if we play with a regular pressure, The Grand miss 3 notes out of 4 ! The worst scenario is with the "Natural" piano setting. It's a bit better with "Soft" piano, almost OK with "Bright". In "natural" mode, if we increase the velocity setting of the keyboard (using the graph), it work. There is no latency when playing live since we installed your KXProject audio drivers instead of Creative Labs drivers. If we use an internal sound of the MIDI chip (instead of this VSTi) of the SB Live 5.1, it's perfect. We really don't know what to do since we upgrade to 1024 meg of RAM and 2.4GHz Intel. Here is the computer configuration: Intel PIV 2.4GHz, 533MHz Front Side Bus 1024 meg DDR 333MHz WD 40 gig 7200RPM Asus motherboard P4S-8X Asus TI4200 GeForce graphic card (16 bits color, 1024x768) Windows XP Home French Sound Blaster 5.1 with KXProject ASIO drivers Casio Touch Response keyboard to PC MIDI in Cubase SX No MSN, Anti-Virus and Firewall running Any help will be very appreciated, thanks. |

Some update for 30/05/2003:
I tried increasing the latency to ±170 and the problem is the same. I tried to switch back to the "Windows General Midi bank" and every note are played with the good velocity. The sound realism is pretty bad and the high latency is back so I don't have no choice than keep using KX Drivers. I don't know how to select the native instrument of my sound card when using KX so I don't have any other choice than using a VSTi. Please help me before I hang myself with my MIDI cable
