kx soundfonts with cubase sx
Hi !
I am using windows XP, Cubase SX and kx 3533 now, and I still have the problem, that I cannot use any soundfont bank higher than 0 ! Since version 3533 there are both kx synths (kx synth 1 and kx synth 2) available for configuration in sx, but I only can play sounds in bank 0 ! Is this still a kx problem, or is it a sx configuration problem ?!? Thanx a lot |

i've the same problem, i've reinstall 3531 version.
With 3533 In Cubase SX I have 2 soundfont SYnths (1 and 2) and they work (the sounds and program changes of midi files are OK) BUT I CAN'T USE THE PROGRAM CHANGE TABLE of THE INSPECTOR In SX there's a feature for MIDI Instruments that allow to select a sinth outputs for XG devices and GM devices. With 3531 I can use this feature but with 3533 in the MIDI Instruments setup window of SX KX synths aren't selected!! My english is bad, but i think you 've understand the problem. kx soundfonts with cubase sx
Hey Guys!!, What version of SX are you using? Version 1.01 doesn't actually have soundfont capabilities built into it, (steinbergs mistake), they reintroduced it into the update v1.03 and later so you may need to download this from the Steinberg site. I don't think there's a fix or patch, just an update file approx 15Mb. Hope this helps. msp

i have a similar problem. i simply cant get soundfonts in banks higher than bank0 to work. bank0 is always used, no matter what i do. this is really killing me. does this mean that i have to stuff all the samples i want to use into one soundfont?!

Cubase bank 0 is KX bank 0, but KX bank 1 is Cubase bank 128, KX bank 2 is Cubase bank 256 etc Keep adding 128 to the bank number (in Cubase) to access all your KX soundfont banks...

In my Cubase SX banks are numbered same way as in kX SoundFont.
The difference is first bank loaded in Cubase gets number 1 not 0. And of course no way to select patches in the inspector. (3533). |

FYI: Here's how I fixxed mine
1. My problem used to be "no Bank or Patch names" ..I could select everything by numbers (Of course Banks are in increments of 128). 2. Then, I couldn't select a bank or patch name at all.. with KX 3532\3533. I tried SX 1.03\1.06 and KX ...3532 - 3533b same results with both... 3. Then I read the post below with Eugene's comments about using an older SFMan32.dll and got things working again...as in # 1 above at least. I noticed that My "KX Synth 2 - emulated" was back in the device list and selected it and evereything worked. Last edited by Snills; Jun 21, 2003 at 05:23 PM. |
