MIDI IN for NATIVE AUDIO - kX or USB?!

primarily use is to play VSTi with lowest latency possible,
have int. USB Audio MIDI from my keyboard and asking myself

Do I need midi_in cable plugged in my kX card gameport,
and what advantages will I get with "midi in kX gameport" ?

You'll have another MIDI in port... about it really.
Its called 'kX UART' tho - not 'game port' ..... kX UART 2 is on the platinum/drive bay IO box thing.
There were problems with kX receiving sysex bulk dumps, I dont think have been resolved.

Ответ: MIDI IN for NATIVE AUDIO - kX or USB?!

Thanks Maddogg6 I see it - the "KX UART SB022x 10k1 (b000)"
does it better/faster/reliable than my keyboard's "USB AUDIO MIDI" one ?!
in case of keyboard/controls use ...

because, I think my usb midi conection
sometime makes not very noticeable
but unpleasent system\vst host brakes\lags

I dunno - MIDI is pretty tame (38Kb or something like that) bandwidth-wise, try simply just triggering kX synths in say, Vienna - and if its OK there - its likely a VSTi thing - which is what I mostly suspect. kX synths will give best latency in most all cases - and is a good way to test MIDI in ports.
In my tests - I seen no real difference between kX UART and my MIDIMan USB Midisport 2x2.

Maybe best to not use an extra USB Hub and plug it directly into the PC - too many things plugged into a USB hub could maybe cuase problems perhaps.. But I doubt that a problem?? VSTi's - depending on which ones - dont do 'real time performance' very well compared to some others (more suited for sequencer use) - and can also depend on the patch selected too, if many layers. Stuff like delayed notes happen for me as well at times using either MIDI IN.
