Using the GeneralMidi.sf2 with the kX SoundFontControl

Hi

I'm new with the kx drivers. I use a Audigy Player card together with a LiveDrive IR (model 0060) from an older Soundblaster Platinum 5.1 card. They work fine together in Cubase5.1 when I use the kX drivers v3528, and I've finely understood how to get my Midi-keyboard playing as well.
First I loaded the 2gmgsmt.sf2 into the SoundFont Controls in bank 0, but nothing happened, so I unloaded it. Then I downloaded a sf2 pianofile from the net and loaded it into bank 0, and it gave me the piano alright.
But what's wrong with the 2gmgsmt.sf2 ? Why can't I use it ?
Is there something I'm doing wrong ? Can somebody give me some advice on this?
Do I have to use the latest kX version. They are unstable according to the downloadsite.
Hope to hear from somebody about this.

I have a similar problem. Previously, my MIDI playback worked just fine, but then somehow my driver got screwed up and reinstalled kX. After that, no sound whenever I try to play back MIDI files, in whichever application. I've loaded the 2gm2sft.sf2 soundfont, and set the MIDI playback device to all possibilities in COntrol Panel > sounds and audio devices (XP).

What to do? I need my MIDI. ^_^

I had a similar problem with midi. No soundfont worked for m. The only midi I could use was M$ Wavetable. I had thre different installs of kx-driver and since i removed all of them and then installed 3534 it all worked again. I can now use the soundfonts that i choose. It might work for you too to do a clean install.

No a clean install didn't help for long. Now it's back to no sound from the soundfonts again. Maybe this should be in the bug report. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
