Hybrid Installation cl and kx drivers
Its probably wishful thinking, but i have to inquire...
Is it possible to have the KX drivers installed without the Soundfont support and also have the CL software control just the soundfont management by way of dlls?

No, it's impossible.

Re: Hybrid Installation cl and kx drivers
Not exactly what you asked for but;
You could install 2 Creative cards. One with kX drivers, the other with CL drivers. Use the CL for SF playbank, editing etc., the kX as 'master' audio card. Connect the output from the CL/SF card via SPDIF to the kX driven card. I've used this setup a lot back in the time when I had to rely on proper soundfont and Vienna support. |

Re: Hybrid Installation cl and kx drivers
AH...good idea, that actually will be perfect as im waiting on a audigy card to go with my Live card. So when I eventually put four audigy cards in my machine, I should have three cards slave to the forth card, with that setup do I
A. Install CL drivers just for slave card 1 and KX for the remainding 3. or B. Will have to use creative drivers for all the cards that i will be using soundfonts through. Thanks for all help cheers. |

Re: Hybrid Installation cl and kx drivers
Dunno, I have never tried that many cards.
Provided that CL drivers/software behave on multiple card installation, my guess would be B if your keen on large amounts of SF playback. But consider how you will connect those 3 slaves -> 1 master. (Enough SPDIF inputs?) Eitherway, I would use an Audigy (10k2) card for CL based soundfonts since it supports >32mb sf sample RAM with CL drivers. I simply used 2 audigy cards. 1 CL slave, 1 kX master. Worked great! |
