what is the difference between uart and controller?
i couldn't find any definitions within the manual for the midi devices as they show up in programs and i am, unfortunately a midi novice. i know the basics of routing. i am using an alesis qs 6.1 as my midi controller and assume that i select the "uart" input as that seems to work but what are the "controller" or "control" inputs and outputs and where are they routed to? i use mainly sonar but also some other audio programs as well.
i must say overall that i am very impressed with the kx driver, as it has extended the life of my creative live! soundcard. other than becoming easily confused with midi because it has always been a pain in the a** to work with, for me at least, i've had minimal problems using this alternative driver. |

Controller (control! not controller :-) is the device used to send automation info to... so you have a midi device for controlling the aspects of the kX driver and the dsp in that.
The UART is an in and out midi device for the midiport on the live hardware itself (the one you have conected to the alesis) The 2 synth's are the soundfont devices |
