kX Synth Playback Issue

Hi all:

I especially hope Russ can help me with this issue, but anyone is welcomed to help.

I have loaded a GM soundfont into KX Synth (and even tried kx Synth2 or both), but when I playback a midi file, using WMP 12 on Windows 7, I get bell ringing sounds and other clatter sounds playing back instead of the instruments that are suppose to be playing.

I don't know what I need to do to get the correct sounds to play. Is there some setting in the kX settings that I need to tweak?

Please, help me?

Re: kX Synth Playback Issue

thomasbarnes, I believe the same issue has been discussed here:
Midi and x64

And is a problem (or omission) with implementation of the 64 bit driver.

Until hardware MIDI is implemented properly in the x64 driver, I suggest you use sfz (free LE version from cakewalk I believe) or SynFont (google it) to play soundfonts on your system.
