kx driver and Cakewalk Guitar Studio

I have a kx driver installed and it's working really well with all other music apps (FruityLoops, CubaseVST32, etc) but I can't get the Cakewalk to output any MIDI sound.

If I import an audio file (*.wav) into cakewalk, it plays back just fine.

But when I hit a note on the midi keyboard, I see evidence in cakewalk of it receiving a midi signal, but there is no actual midi sound output unless I set Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth as the MIDI Output Port.

Anybody have any experience setting up a cakewalk midi application using kx drivers? I'm stumped.
