Soundfonts kiling wave audio?
hi,
ok - i'm new to the kx drivers (just moved over from aps live!) and so far i'm really impressed - nice one. so here's the starge problem. i'm running magix midi studio 2003 (which is like a cut down logic 3.5) on a CT4760 with the latest kx drivers (3534). all seems fine until i play soundfonts and then the audio starts messing up - loud pops and weird noises and then finally cutting out completely on the left and then the right side. seemed like some kind of feedback or overload thing to me so i tried reducing the dsp connections to a bare minumum but with no luck. this might be something really obvious so mabe some of you have some ideas. many thanks, noel |

if you are using any CPU cooling software (such as CPUIdle) -- re-read our FAQ

Hi Eugene!
The same happens on my system under cubase vst. Soundfonts alone working geat, wave audio alone also. But together there is no way. If I play any note on a kxSynth with running audio there are the same pops and clicks and somtimes the whole system crashs. I use the original creative SF (8MB Size) loaded into bank 0. Maybe there is a data-stream-misunderstanding between SF and ASIO? Best regards! TravelRec. |

no, ASIO & SoundFonts should co-exist piecefully (unless your OS/hardware are configured incorrectly)
there's a problem with Athlon/Via processor/chipset-dependent optimizations that could cause certain PCI issues you should turn this optimizations off /E |

Hi Eugene!
For me this can´t be like you said. No Athlon / Via etc. inside (just PIII and original INTEL chipset and no soft-cooling). About PCI issues I don´t know enough to say something. Maybe it´s my old Cubase (3.7 vst) but I´m also not sure. All other things are working perfectly. May time will tell... Thanks for your reply! TravelRec. |

Pentium IV has a similar optimization flag somewhere
(I'm unsure -- search the forum) /E |

Yes, I've found the same problem.
In general I'm using sfz soundfont player. 16 and more cubase's traks can work fine together on my BX133 with celeron900, every with sfz VSTi. When only one of them works as kx Synth, the sound cracks start to appear - sometimes only. PITmaster |
