No MIDI input devices in Device Manager
The lastest KX drivers installed on my system ok (running XP SP1), but they didn't detect or install any drivers for any midi input(s)... this means I can't use my MIDI keyboard in Cubase SX. When I select the input from SX I get the option of "CTXXXX UART (emulated)", which doesn't do anything. The model number does appear where the X's are, but I can't remember it.
![]() Surely this shouldn't be emulated should it? (I would be able to post more info, but I have no access to the problematic PC at the moment. Is there any way I can get my MIDI UART to come up in device manager? I think that I'll be able to have more success then.

After much messing around, I found that the MIDI lead had come out the back of my soundcard... DOH!
I now have it all going, and i'm getting nice 10ms latency in reason... YAY! Now I just gotta figure out how to get Cubase SX to do the same... Thanx go out to Eugene for crating this exellent bit of software. |

related problem
after upgrding to the latest kx driver (and to win xp) i have a similar problem in cubasis VST - I hsve no V ST inputs so am unable to hear what I play on the keyboard - even though if I have cubasis set to record it records what I play and then plays it back fine - I just can't monitor when I play - which is not much use. So any suggestions would be a big help

Hi!
I remember that someone said: please uninstall all previous drivers before installing 3535... do you´ve done this?? Also check in multimedia properties about strange settings (more than one current kx-device or some error messages if you click on properties of kx-device...) TravelRec.

Hi Mike
I have the same problem. I can't get any MIDI input to Gigastudio from my MIDI keyboard. Also, there is no MPU-401 device listed in device manager (or any other type of MIDI I/O). AMD k7 900MHZ WIN XP Audigy 2 Am I missing something? Do I have to have a VST application and use ASIO to get MIDI data into my computer? Confusedly yours, Chopin

for problems with cubasis vst4.0 there is a solution (at least it worked for me)
1.ensure your asio settings for sample rate are 48k 2.The problem is a dll file with cubasis 4.0 - it doesn't work. The solution is to replace this dll file with an older version from cubasis v3.0. The file is mros32.dll. The trick is to copy the older file into the c:\windows\system32 (on winXp or 2K) or c:\windows\system (on win98 or ME) and overwrite the newer file. Details and the file(s) can be found at http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/steinbe...vst4_thru.html for anyone who is interested. |
