How to choose soundfont instruments in Cubase
I have got evrything to work now. Loading soundfonts in KX-mixer or even in cubase. And play them using bank 0, 1, 2 and so on (dont have to use 0, 128, 256 and so on any more????). But i still cant see the actual instruments.
I can change bank to change soundtfont, and change prg to change instrument. But is there a way to see the names of the instruments in stead of just hearing what instrument you like to play? Kjems |

No, there is not. IMHO it's a bug in kX drivers as everything works with Liveware, but Eugene stated that there's something wrong with the Creative Soundfont DDK. Well, whatever, the soundfont pulldown menu does not work.

Guys,
isnt it somehow possible to implement the same wrong patchnamehandling as Creative did - just to be compatible with the SoundFont manager? Thanks, Malte |

perhaps yes but I don't wish (and cannot) install Cubase SX at the moment -- and the patch names are available in my Cubase 5 and Sonar... so... well.. probably in the future /E |

Hi folks!
I am experiencing odd problems too. I had one soundcard, a LiveValue CT4832, running various soundfonts, Chorium by OpenWorld lately in particular. The instruments displayed just fine for both kX synths. I just got a used Live5.1 Platinum and installed it in a free slot. On reboot, Windows98se recognized both cards and kX did too (CT4832 on d400 and SB0060 on b800). All the new inputs seem to be working fine (Aux2, Mic2,...). I switched my speakers over to the SB0060 rear speaker ouput (I2S). I loaded Chorium by OpenWorld onto SB0060, kx synth (2). Here is the bug: Cubase will not see the soundfont instruments for KX synths (2) on the new SB0060. Note: Cubase still sees the soundfont instruments just fine for both kX synths on the CT4832 card. I unloaded the sounfont from CT4832 just in case it was a soundfont size issue. No change. Will moving the cards around in slots (order), or removing CT4832 completely help? Should KX display sounfont instruments with multiple cards, or is there a dominant one? Is there something I missed? Pls advise. This brings up another issue. With two such cards, what is an ideal setup for both audio recording and midi? I will record undoubtedly audio mostly via LiveDrive IR inputs (I2S codec quality), that is for sure. Do I run sounfonts and midi on the CT4832 and port them into the SB0060 via SPDIF? Do I keep all open for al possibilities (ie multi track audio, all synths available)? Hummm. What have your folks found that works cleverly? Note: I have yet to see the Asio assigment (hardware issue) come up with the SB0060. AUX2 does end up into Asio 10/11 as wired in DSP (kxIn10/kxIn11 into VST inputs 6R/6L). Seems to work ok. Any advice will be gretaly appreciated. Kind regards to all, Paul.
