Soundfont editor problems
Has anyone managed to create their own soundfonts with the kX drivers? I can't set loop points on samples, being told I haven't the memory to play back any samples, even though normal Soundfont editing works okay.

Both cooledit and wavelab have loop editing tools that work really well when set as the external editor in vienna.
The latest wavelab has an excelent crossfade looping tool which works great, just set the file "WaveLab-app.exe" as the external editor, not "Wavelab.exe". I have built SF's from scratch using this combo and its great exept for the fact that development of vienna ceased may years ago and its workflow simply sucks. cheers |

Have you considered an alternative SF editor? The only one I know of is Alive! but there's issues with that and kX (doesn't work!) though I'd have thought there'd be more options than JUST Vienna and Alive!

yes, its pretty limited.
Awave Studio has SF editing buts no better than vienna or alive imo. There are some command line utilities called sf2comp and sf2proc which when used in conjuntion with an editor provide certain global editing operations that the mentioned editors lack. do google search they're at hamersound. |
