new to SF, Recommend some?
Hi folks
Ive been using KX with my Live card for "onstage" VSTi instruments for some time. I also use KX drivers in Cubase with lots of VST effects and instruments. I was blown away at the great latency improvements and better sound quality of the KX drivers. I know that sound fonts are the sounds played by the sound cards internal synth, and the ones that came by default with Creative Drivers sound like a toy synth. For that reason I never learned much about them. But now I noticed the new KX drivers supports large sound font sizes it has peaked my interest again. So heres my questions: Are there sound fonts that sound as good as the VSTi that im using now such as, The Grand, Lougne Lizard, B4, FM7, etc ? Are there any good free SF that I could experiment with? Suggest and good sites for high quality SF? Im always interested in expanding the sounds I can get from my PC, and VSTi has really been an eye opener for my, am I missing out by not know about sound fonts? Thanks for Reading and Replying Toad |

I do a lot of GM/GS composing, so some of my favorite large soundfonts are GeneralUser, Fluid 2, Unison, and AnotherGS. I'd suggest getting anything that looks good to you and trying it out for yourself though.
