MIDI 'stutter' ?

Recently, the MIDI metronome program I use for guitar practice has started 'stuttering' or playing a little beep before some beats. As far as I can remember, I haven't changed anything. I tried downloading other metronomes, but they all have the same problem. Help!

My system is:
SB Live! Value
AMD Athalon 700, 512 mb ram
Windows 2000 SP 4
kX 3537 (just installed with hopes of fixing this problem)

Alright, I seem to have fixed my own problem. Uninstalling Service Pack 4 fixes everything. Someone should probably look into this...
